Year of the Ox is a 3x5 online slot from Genesis Games, released on 13 January 2021. Built around a Chinese culture and Asian theme, it takes inspiration from the Jade Emperor’s animal race legend, with the ox placed second after the rat. The game uses 50 paylines and offers a minimum bet of €0.50, with a stated maximum win multiplier of x10,000.
The main bonus feature is the free spins round, triggered by scatter symbols. Three scatters award 12 free spins, four scatters award 15, and five scatters award 20. During this bonus, progressive multipliers begin at 2x and increase each time a double wild appears, adding a second layer to the reel action.
A demo version is available, allowing players to play for free and practice before playing for real money. The slot has medium-to-high volatility and an RTP of 95%, which may appeal to players looking for a balance of bonus-trigger potential and larger win swings.
