Checkmate Hot 1 by Hot Rise Games is a five-reel slot with 30 paylines, high volatility and an RTP of 96.14%. The game uses a chess-inspired design with an art deco style, while the main mechanics centre on the Bonus symbol and feature-based play.
The Bonus symbol can trigger two respin features and a free spins round. During the feature, additional spins may be awarded and sticky symbols can remain in place. In the free spins, higher chess pieces move through the sticky symbols, increasing the number collected as they progress towards the King and Queen.
The final free spin is the Hot 1 feature, where the Wild player becomes a 2x Wild over the sticky symbols gathered earlier. A demo version is available, allowing players to play for free and practice before playing for real money.
