Unusual Suspects is a 5-reel, 20-payline online video slot by Northern Lights Gaming, released in September 2023. The game uses a dark city crime theme, with symbols based on detectives, criminals, evidence, wilds and scatters. Its reported RTP is 96.15%, with lower variants also listed. Stakes start at 0.10 and the maximum bet is 20.00.
The main mechanics centre on sticky wild frames, Exploding Wilds and Detective Wilds. When wild symbols land, they can leave frames on the reels, while a detective symbol can reactivate those frames as wilds. Exploding Wilds may also trigger additional wild symbols, creating further chances for winning combinations. Two scatter symbols can activate a step-down re-spin, adding another feature to the base game.
Free spins are triggered by 3, 4 or 5 scatters and award 10, 15 or 20 spins. During the feature, symbols continue to pay cash values, sticky wild frames remain in place, and the feature upgrade trail tracks progress toward capturing the Big Boss for multipliers and extra spins. This demo version is available to play for free and can be used to practice before playing for real money.
