Mexican Standoff: upcoming slot by NetEnt
Four fighters enter the ring, each bringing a different kind of chaos to Mexican Standoff. El Fuego, El Loco, El Rayo and El Tigre turn the lucha libre arena into a moving battlefield of collecting characters, escalating multipliers and sudden feature interactions, while the play area itself can grow as the fight gathers momentum. The result is a deliberately hectic NetEnt release built around movement, Avalanches™ and a Hype Meter that keeps pushing the action forward.

Luchador Collectors Push the Grid Beyond 6x6
The multiplier system begins at x1 and doubles whenever a Luchador visits a position and collects a symbol. The first collection raises the multiplier to x2, and repeated visits can continue the progression as high as x4096. Wilds can also be collected by multiple Luchadores during the same movement.
Collected symbols feed the Hype Meter positioned outside the play area. Once filled, the meter stores an activation, and several activations can be accumulated before resolving one at a time. When activated, it clears the symbols and characters from the grid, creates room for another Avalanche™ and triggers the Random Multiplier feature.
Random Multiplier can also activate at the beginning of a spin. It raises the multipliers on a random selection of positions by one step and can expand the original 6x6 play area first to 7x7 and then to a maximum of 8x8. Any win starts an Avalanche™, removing the winning symbols and replacing them before the game checks for another win.
In the main game, expanded reels reset between spins. During Free Spins and Super Free Spins, however, the larger grid carries over from one spin to the next.
Special Symbols and Luchador Encounters Keep Changing the Ring
Several special symbols interact directly with the moving Luchadores. Grid Clearer Roomba can remove low-paying symbols and Luchadores from part of the grid to make room for another Avalanche, while Symbol Converter Battery can transform a row or reel to match the colour of the Luchador that collects it and can create Wilds in specific interactions.
Multiplier Doubler Chairs focus on the values already building across the arena. The smaller version doubles multipliers within a 3x3 area and assigns x2 to positions without an existing multiplier, while the larger version applies the same effect across the entire play area.
The characters can create further combinations when two or more Luchadores finish their movement next to each other. These Position Based Features include Brawl, Tag Team, Character Removal, Corner Jump and Edge Rush, producing additional movement, symbol collection, multiplier changes or fresh space for Avalanches depending on the encounter.
Free Spins Turn Temporary Progress into Persistent Chaos
Collecting three Bonus Symbols in the main game awards five Free Spins. Unlike regular play, the multiplier values, expanded reel configuration and Hype Meter all persist between Free Spins, allowing progress from earlier spins to remain active.
Each Bonus Symbol collected during the feature adds one extra Free Spin. A Super Bonus Symbol also adds a spin and upgrades the following round to Super Free Spins. Alternatively, collecting three Bonus Symbols including at least one Super Bonus in the main game awards five Super Free Spins directly.
Super Free Spins retain the same persistent multipliers, expanded grid and Hype Meter, but the Random Multiplier feature is guaranteed to occur at least once on every spin. Bonus and Super Bonus Symbols each award another Super Free Spin when collected.
Elevate Feature Offers Five Ways to Intensify a Spin
Mexican Standoff also uses NetEnt's Elevate Feature, with one enhanced option available per game round. Bonus Hunt costs 1.5x the bet and increases the chance of reaching Free Spins or Super Free Spins. Charged x16 costs 10x and begins with x16 on every grid position, while Charged x128 costs 75x and starts every position at x128.
Loco Spins costs 100x the bet and guarantees at least three Bonus Symbols to activate Free Spins. Full Chaos Spins raises the cost to 500x and guarantees at least three Bonus Symbols including a Super Bonus, sending the game directly into Super Free Spins.
Mexican Standoff Lets the Fight Spill Across the Entire Grid
Mexican Standoff starts as a crowded lucha libre brawl and keeps finding new ways to make the ring less predictable. Fighters move, symbols disappear, multipliers spread and the arena can physically grow around them, while Free Spins preserve the progress instead of wiping the slate clean. By the time the Hype Meter, character encounters and expanding grid begin overlapping, the orderly 6x6 starting point can feel a long way from where the fight ends.
