The Angler by BetSoft is a five-reel, 20-payline video slot released in 2017. It uses a 5x3 layout and a medium-volatility structure, with an RTP of 97.10%. The game follows fisherman Otis through an underwater-themed setting, with symbols including card icons, fish, a turtle, a shark, a crab wild and a scatter clam.
The demo version lets players play for free and study the mechanics before playing for real money. A key feature is Oyster Free Spins, triggered by three Pearl scatter symbols on reels III, IV and V. In this mode, wilds cling to their positions for the duration of the feature, and extra free spins can be awarded.
The slot also includes the Time To Fish! bonus game, activated by three BONUS symbols on reels I, II and III. In that round, the player helps Otis catch fish for additional rewards. A standard wild substitutes for most symbols, while the interface includes spin controls, autoplay and a double-up option.
