The Hive

The Hive by BetSoft is a low-volatility online slot with 30 paylines, a 96.13% RTP and a 48.71% hit rate. It uses a hexagonal honeycomb layout rather than a standard reel set, with symbols arranged across 18 visible positions in a staggered grid. The game was released on 25 June 2020 and is presented with bee, honey and flower imagery.

The symbol set includes card ranks, flowers, a Wild symbol shown as a jar of honey, and three bee types with different functions. The Queen Bee triggers additional bee activity, the Drone Bee fills the Honey Meter, and the Worker Bees apply multipliers to winning paylines aligned with their positions. During regular spins, bees move around the grid in a clockwise pattern and may activate special effects.

In the demo version, players can play for free and practise before playing for real money while exploring the free spins feature. Filling the Honey Meter awards 5 free spins, with up to 3 spreading wilds at the start of the bonus round. The free spins mode is the main bonus game and adds moving wilds and bee-triggered features to the base game.
